The Sydney opera house

Today we went to the Sydney opera house for a tour and to see Turnadot. I’ll start with the tour. On the tour I learned a lot. Here are three facts. 1: the Building was supposed to take three years and cost 7 million dollars but it actually took 14 years and it costs 100 million dollars. 2: The architect who built it left the job after the government wouldn’t reimburse him for the models he made of the Sydney Opera house. 3: There was actually two architects who built the opera house. The most famous being Jon Utzon and Peter Hall.

Next Turnadot

It’s an opera with very high notes for tenors. The story is a princess Turandot who read about her ancestor who was forcibly married to a foreign prince so she vowed never to marry one. So foreign princes have to come and answer her three riddles or you’re going to the executioner. So many princes come and fail. So then a prince by the name Calaf comes but his family is in exile and he hasn’t seen his dad in years. So he rings the gong that means and that he is trying to solve the riddles. The first riddle he answers hope….. which is Right. The second riddle he answers Blood which is….. Right again. The final riddle he answers her name TURNADOT. Which was right . She begs her father not to let her be married. But then he dies. (The father) Then Calaf offers to her if she can figure out his name before dawn she can send him to executioner so she agrees. Then she tortures a maid that loves him to tell her his name but she passes away by her own hand to keep him safe. By sunrise she has lost all hope then they kiss and he tells her his name then they go to the ceremony and when the priest asks his name she says Love and then they get married.
