About a week ago, we visited the Great Barrier Reef. We did a bit of a tour type thing in Hastings reef, then we went to another on our own. The tour was much better for us, but both were very fun. We saw a Green Turtle, a Reef Shark and some small see through squid. While we were there, we found out some facts about the Reef, so I will share some fun facts.
1: The Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest are the only world heritage sites that touch.
2: Over 9,000 known species live in the Great Barrier Reef.
3: The Great Barrier Reef is visible from space.
4: The Great Barrier Reef is about the same size as Italy and Japan.
It was such a cool experience, and honestly I will truly remember it for a lifetime! I can’t even really put into words how it was, but it was a great experience. It felt exhilarating and I very much recommend that people who can should go.
