After a lovely time in Bakewell it was time to start the next 5 days in Bath. We had an entirely too stressful trip through Sheffield to drop off our rental car and I was very happy to get back on a train and leaving the driving to someone else. Bath was lovely with it's preserved buildings, interesting history and of course the connection to Jane Austen. We took part in the Jane Austen Festival's Grand Promenade with 2000 other Regency attired book nerds. The girls got lots of compliments on their gowns and some promenade viewers asked them for photos and they happily obliged. It was quite an experience and I couldn't help but wonder what Jane Austen would have thought of it all. I did ask the girls but for me I think she would have been outwardly embarrassed but she would have written an amusing letter about it to her sister.
